The observation platform for the historic town of Hallstatt has been meticulously designed in the form of an idiomorphic crystal, drawing inspiration from the naturally occurring sodium chloride crystal (Kochsalz) found in nature, known for its distinctive cube shape. This design concept holds profound significance as Hallstatt has a deep-rooted history in salt mining, with the town and its mine being closely intertwined for centuries. The platform serves as a symbolic representation, seamlessly merging the interior of the mountain with the outside world. By mirroring the structure of an undisturbed salt crystal, it pays homage to Hallstatt's rich mining heritage and the remarkable beauty that lies within the depths of the earth. Through the platform's design, visitors are not only provided with a breathtaking observation point to appreciate the historical town and its surroundings but are also invited to connect with Hallstatt's cultural identity and the significance of salt mining in shaping its history. The platform stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Hallstatt, transporting the essence of the mountain's interior to the exterior, encapsulating the town's captivating story and natural wonders in a singular architectural marvel.
